  • Spurgeon's College and the University of Wales

Many of Spurgeon’s College’s current undergraduate and postgraduate theology courses are validated by the University of Wales. Earlier this week Spurgeon’s College heard via the press that the University of Wales will terminate its current form of validation activities in 2012.

While we await further details of the practical implications of this we are reassured that the University has committed itself to honouring commitments to students who have already matriculated with them.

Subsequently we have also been interested to learn that the University intends to invite a series of partner colleges, of which we are one, to explore joining an extended faculty to develop common programmes of study.

We are confident that our students will not be adversely affected by the changes that lie ahead.  The College continues to be committed to act in the best interest of our student body in providing high quality learning and support across the whole range of our online and college based undergraduate and postgraduate courses.

Around 400 of Spurgeon’s 800 students are currently registered for awards with the University of Wales.
