Good to hear from you Andy. I have just spent the afternoon studying unit 2 of module 1 and I realise what you mean about the lack of interaction with the Tutor. I suppose that is what the Journal is for, although it is odd to be putting down your thoughts, knowing that they will not be read until you submit them when you have finished the module. I find myself having to be very clear in what I write, as I want to get over what I am thinking. In a normal lecture situation the one-to-one interaction would enable you to do that much more easily. Oh well, I suppose it will just take a bit of getting used to, but it is at least teaching me to be more concise when trying to express a point! Rob

Hi Rob,

do forgive me for making a comment. One thing that we online students can do is bounce ideas off each other as this should help build our own individual knowledge and understanding in any given area. This approach is commonly used within the wider education community and can possibly used for us online students by us making use of tools at our disposal, such as email. As long as no two students put the same ideas across in exactly the same words, word for word then our growth of knowledge can be great.

my first undergraduate degree was in the Education field, and the use of groups was used to our benefit. when we studied educational theory, we began to learn why some lecturers did things the way they did!

Duncan

Yes do use the forum to intereact with each other. What's more your tutors will always be happy to hear from you as will Emma and myself! We have a few study days open to online students (see "Online teaching days" tab). So why not come and get that interaction you desire?
