It's been several weeks since I started this adventure. I'm really enjoying the study but was struggling to get much work done once the school holidays began.

I've found a new way (well, new for me!) to study which has helped me so much, I wanted to share it. Apologies if this is really obvious but until this month, I'd failed to appreciate the value of the printable versions of the units.

But a couple of weeks ago, I took my laptop to my parents house and took advantage of their lovely fast printer to print out the units I hadn't studied yet. Prior to this, I was dependant upon being at the PC in order to study but now, I can study anyway, even whilst my son is playing in the bath!!

I understand that this wouldn't work for everyone but I've gotten very good at working with sound around me so the noise isn't a problem. God is being very, very good because as a kid, I was hopeless at working in anything less than absolute silence!

Another advantage for me in doing it this way is that I purposely didn't print out the guidelines. This has forced me to concentrate more and give a lot more thought to what I am writing. Be honest, how all too easy is it to think that a question is too hard and have a quick peek at the answers before formulating a 'proper' answer in full sentences?!

I write all my answers on the print outs which means I'm slowly building a file of notes too. I appreciate that this is what the learning journal is for but for me, this is working better. I am of course then having to transfer everything I write to the formal learning journal but rather than being the chore I feared this would be, it is serving to aid my learning.

So, to whoever decided to make the units available as a downloadable document, many, many thanks. I can not overstate how much this has helped.

Blessings,
Eleanor x

Excellent! It is always so encouraging to read comments like this. We worked hard to make this downloading facility possible. Thank you too for sharing your experience with other students!

Hi Eleanor<br><br>I only accessed registered and purchased the access course today, more out of curiosity as I cannot realistically start it until October. However I have spent a good few hours today just hanging around the site, reading up and also reading a few students comments. I have to say, this has been useful and I like your initiative to facilitate your learning in other ways. <br><br>Regarding studying in silence, I know all about that! lol<br>It's great that you have started to be able to work around noise, and I too should pray for this as I may have to get used to it!!<br><br>Hope it goes well for you.<br><br>Blessings!<br><br>Phil
