Well here we are at the start of three years learning and thinking about the wonders of the amazing book and life that our Lord has blessed us with, a time to study, reflect and go deepper!

However when I was teaching the children this Sunday my reverie was brought down to earth. As I tried to explain about Abram's journey from Ur and how he would have to take everything with him, I posed the question 'What do you think he might have taken with him to eat on this very long journey?' One little boy kindly offered vegetables, though he didn't seem to be too bothered when I explained they could not take fields with them!! THen another child suggested fish, good thinking. Suddenly the four year old piped up, 'He couldn't take a whale, cos whales don't like being out of water, s he couldn't take a whale.'
What more can I say, I guess she was right, but it hadn't crossed my mind during my preparation. As I struggled to get the right response in amongst the general agreement, I noticed my 14year old son sniggering in the corner!!

You see academic study is ok, but four year olds often have another altogether unexpected perspective!
