Diploma in Theology

If you have completed a Certificate in Theology you can study for another 120 credits and gain a Diploma.

To upgrade from Certificate to Diploma an additional 120 credits must be earned.  In total therefore a student who obtains a Diploma will have gained 240 credits.

The Diploma in Theology is awarded to students who have demonstrated the
ability to:

  • analyse, evaluate and reflect on major aspects of Christian theology and the contexts in which it is practised
  • make use of main methods of critical theological enquiry and of appropriate approaches for dealing with issues which arise in Christian mission and ministry
  • communicate and apply theological learning in an integrated manner exercise appropriate skills and qualities required for engaging in effective leadership

The University of Wales registration fee for the Diploma level is £147.  This fee needs to be paid to Spurgeon's College, which is responsible for forwarding registration fees directly to the University.  We recommend that you register once you have completed one or two modules at this level.  You then gain access to the University's own Online resources.

There is no recommended order for completing the Diploma modules.  Consult individual module descriptors for the necessary prerequisites for modules.
