Llanelli, South Wales

Hi,

I thought I'd start the ball rolling (again - I understand there is a thread like this elsewhere prior to this redesign) and say hello.

I'm from Llanelli in South Wales, a 31 year old mum of 3.

Looking forward to getting to know you all,

El x

Hi, Im from fife in Scotland, and go to Leslie Baptist Church.

I am recently married now with three step kids (and an insane dog!) and will be going to uni next year to study theology (I intend to do spurgeons as well as the courses really appeal and I cannot see why i shouldnt do both :) ).

Dont know what else to say im 26 but feel 56 (most of the time!) and work as a nurse (which is the reason for the +30 years I think).

Wow, it doesn't look like there are many of us doing the course.  Either that or we are all forum-shy.  No, of course, we are all too busy studying!  That's it!  Silly me!

I am from Saffron Walden in Essex (near Cambridge), attending Gold Street Chapel www.goldstreetchapel.org.uk

I am 46 years old, married to Sarah and have two lovely 8-year old daughters Abigail and Hannah.

I am about half-way through Module 1.  I tend to study in fits and starts, given that my job as a banker in London requires me to travel quite a bit.  I wanted to study theology for a long time, and the online option seemed the way to go.  I have been leading services, will start to preach (next Sunday 13 Sept for the first time! - pray for me!), and have been doing children's work for several years.  So it all seems the right time to start hte studying to make myself more effective.

I don't always find the topics very interesting, but I do see their value.  But most of them I think are interesting.  One question I have is, how much access can we reasonably expect to have to tutors etc on the phone or by email.  I find myself being quite reticent to ask things and have actually never phoned to talk to a tutor.  I feel that as an online student I might not be "entitled".  Is that silly?  Does anyone else recognise this issue?

Would love to hear back from anyone!

With best wishes, Lorenz Jorgensen

Hiya - I am just adding to a small forum - but to say i do part-time actually on site - I'm 43 , married to helen and at Oasis Church - baptist church in Colliers wood South London. It appears alot of part time monday people in my first year class come from a wide area - sussex, hants, cambs, essex, kent etc as well as London. We are quite diverse in age but mostly in 30's , 40's, 50's ish it looks like!!

Hi,

I am on the last 2 units on the 2nd Module, an introduction to Paul. I am married to a VERY understanding lady called Lisa, we have 3 children aged 10, 8 and 6. I am 35. I have been studying for what seems like forever, but sadly I have had a few health set backs but am muddling through the best I can at the moment.

I am on facebook Alan Burrows should anyone like a study buddy.

God bless

Alan
