| Spurgeon’s College and the University of Wales - Tuesday, October 04, 2011
Like everybody else, Spurgeon’s College heard from the press that the University of Wales may terminate its validation activities in 2012. We are still awaiting official notification. If the report is correct, we will seek validation by another university and we expect that our students will not be adversely affected by the change-over. Many British universities validate colleges such as we are and with three successful inspections in 2011 we should be an attractive partner.
Our agreements with Wales say that they are obliged to give 12 months notice in writing and also that they have a duty of care for existing students.
Dr Nigel Wright, Principal: Spurgeon's College

| Student Finance Possibilities - Friday, February 13, 2009
Student Finance is available for UK students who will attempt at least 60 credits in a 12 month period. In order to qualify for funding you must be able to set aside at least 600 hours (about 12 hours each week) for study during the year and not have a first degree already. You need to complete the Access module before the College will certify the student finance application form.
Please note that to qualify for student finance you need to register for the Bachelor of Divinity degree with the University of Wales and pay the registration fee. Please also be aware that you can only study for this degree through Spurgeon's Online as a part-time student as it is not possible to complete the degree in less than 4 years according to university regulations. At present the only student finance funding available for this course is for tuition fees.
For more details look for Student Finance on the direct.gov.uk web site or email Andy Brockbank: a.brockbank@spurgeons.ac.uk.

| Typed assignments please! - Thursday, June 19, 2008
PLEASE NOTE: From 1st September 2009 it will no longer be possible to submit hand-written scripts for assessed assignments. All work should be typed or word processed. This is to comply with normal University standards and to protect our quality assurance processes. In exceptional circumstances exemption from this ruling can be sought in writing from the College Academic Dean.
If you have any questions or queries regarding this please do not hesitate to contact us. We hope that this will ensure that excellent standards are maintained.
